Requirements and Conditions

With effect from 1 June 2021, classroom-based theory lessons are suspended till further notice. 

For customers who enrolled before 1 December 2021, if you have not completed the required theory lesson(s) and activated HBTL booking, please read the following requirements and conditions and submit the HBTL Opt-in Form below to activate HBTL booking.

Customers who enrolled on or after 1 December 2021 will be automatically opted-in for HBTL, no activation or submission is required.

Types of Theory Lesson via HBTL

Motorcar (Course Type: 3A, 3C, 3T, 3P)
Basic Theory Lessons (BTL 1.01 & 1.02)
Final Theory Lessons (FTL 1.01 & 1.02)
Risk Forecast Training (PPL 5.01)

Motorcycle (Course Type: 2B)
Basic Theory Lessons (BTL 1.01 & 1.02)
Riding Theory Lessons (RTL 1.01 & 1.02)
Defensive Riding Theory Lessons (PPL 1.01, 1.02 & 1.03)

Motorcycle (Course Type: 2A)
2A Theory Lesson (TL)

Lesson Information

Language Available: English or Mandarin (Select your preferred language during booking)

Duration: 100 minutes per lesson.

Eligibility

Customers who enrolled before 1 December 2021 and have not completed the required theory lesson(s).

Procedure

Step 1: Activate HBTL via ‘HBTL Opt-in Form’ below.

Step 2: Receive email confirmation once HBTL is activated.

Step 3: Login to BBDC account and click ‘Booking → Theory’ to book the slots.

Step 4: Click ‘Manage Booking’ to ensure booking is confirmed.  You will not be able to join the lesson if you do not have a valid booking captured in the system.

Must have a valid email address and Singapore mobile number registered in BBDC system for correspondence purposes.

Device

The device must be able to support Zoom Workplace- Mobile phone, tablet, notebook or desktop with a working camera and microphone may be used.

Internet Connection

Must have a stable internet connection.

Attendance
  • Attend all HBTLs via Zoom Workplace.
  • One day before the lesson (latest by 5pm), Zoom meeting details (Meeting ID & Password) will be sent to you via SMS.  WhatsApp message to 91109928 if you did not receive the SMS.
  • On the day of the lesson, login to Zoom Workplace 40 minutes before the lesson start time (in case of technical difficulties) with your:
    Meeting ID: from SMS
    Name: Last 4 characters of your NRIC No./FIN and name (e.g. 555A Kitty Tan)
    Password: from SMS
  • Ensure camera is on and face visibly shown throughout the lesson (click ‘Start Video’ and ‘Join Audio’ at bottom left page).
  • Login with one device only.
  • Admission to Zoom Workplace will close at lesson start time.
  • Attend lesson in a safe and conducive environment that will not cause harm to self or others.  Do not attend the lesson while driving/ riding/ working.
  • Attendance will be taken based on the name you keyed in during Zoom login at randomised timing.
  • To protect the privacy of other participants, please do not share the Zoom meeting information with unauthorised personnel.
Cancellation of Lesson

Login to your account and select ‘Manage Booking’ to perform the cancellation at least 48 hours before lesson starts, fee will be refunded back to your account immediately.  Cancellation through phone/email is strictly disallowed.

Disqualification

Customer will be removed from the lesson and considered as absent if:

  • Late for lesson (after admission is closed).
  • Unresponsive for more than 5 minutes.
  • Camera is not switched on/face not visibly shown for more than 5 minutes.
  • Found to be disruptive or abusive.
  • Attending lesson while driving/ riding/ working/ in an unsafe environment.
Rebooking is required and fee payable.  


All opt-in request shall be processed based on the submission time.  Multiple submissions may result in delay in processing your request.

Important Notes:

  • Click here on how to set up Zoom Workplace and get yourself ready for home-based theory lessons.
  • While attending HBTLs, customers are able to book theory practice and evaluation concurrently. Please note that theory practice and evaluation will be conducted at BBDC premises (Level 3, Classroom 7).

For 3T Course Customers, you will only be able to book:

  • Basic Theory Evaluation (BTE), conducted at BBDC premises (Level 3, Classroom 7) upon completion of Basic Theory Lessons  (BTL 1.01 and 1.02)
  • Final Theory Evaluation (FTE), conducted at BBDC premises (Level 3, Classroom 7) upon completion of Final Theory Lessons (FTL 1.01 and 1.02)
