3rd Asia-Oceania Honda Safety Instructor Competition 2025
Theory Segment
This year, a new segment ‘Safety Knowledge and Instruction Skills’ and ‘Accident Avoidance to Reduce Traffic Fatalities’ was introduced as part of the challenge. This segment evaluated the participants’ skills in devising effective solutions for real-world accident scenarios and maximizing the efficiency of their teaching methodologies based on their riding and driving experience.
Motorcycle Segment
In the motorcycle segment, participants were divided into three categories: 500cc, 300cc, and 150cc. The competition featured three main challenges.
The Braking Course tested participants’ ability to stop their vehicle safely and as close as possible to a designated mark at high speed, evaluating their reaction time and decision-making skills. The Designed Slalom Course required participants to navigate through a series of obstacles at varying speeds, with a focus on their coordination in acceleration, gear shifting, braking, and riding posture. Lastly, the Low-Speed Balance Course assessed participants’ ability to apply balance techniques and maintain proper posture while maneuvering through the course at low speeds.
Motorcar Segment
The motorcar segment featured three challenging courses designed to test participants’ skills and precision.
The Figure Driving Course required participants to navigate the narrow course, testing their control and manoeuvring abilities. The Slippery Road Driving Course simulated driving on low-traction surfaces, challenging participants to maintain control and stability on slippery surfaces. Lastly, the Design Slalom Course challenged them to demonstrate quick reflexes and agility as they weaved through a series of cones, aiming to complete the course in the fastest time while maintaining precision.

Post Event- Participants’ Thoughts
Celina Sharleen Naidu Jayaselan
I was very excited about this trip, although I wasn’t sure what to expect as it was my first competition. However, this opportunity allowed me to learn and practice along with other overseas competitors. I was truly inspired by their skills and expertise.
I hope to have the chance to train with them again, as it provided me with invaluable exposure and experience. I am committed to continuing my self-improvement and will definitely strive for the chance to compete again.
Muhammad Farhan Bin Hamdan
I am grateful to BBDC for recognising my skills and providing me with the opportunity to showcase my abilities on an international level once again. I knew I had to put in extra effort to achieve my goals. I was also excited to reconnect with friends from other countries.
As a competitor, I was eager to learn new things, and I also gained a deeper understanding of “humbleness and humility” after witnessing the high standards of other countries. With the skills and knowledge I’ve gained, I am dedicated to sharing them with my colleagues and students.
Eddy Neo Wei Jie
First of all, I would like to thank BBDC for giving me the opportunity to participate in this competition. It was my first time joining, and it was truly an eye-opener.
During the two days of training conducted by the Japanese trainer, I gained valuable skills and knowledge that will significantly enhance my performance. I am grateful for the expertise shared with me. With the new skills, knowledge, and perspective, I am committed to sharing them with my colleagues.
Nur Fadhli Bin Nordin
Participating in this competition certainly gave me the shakes and jitters. As a relatively new instructor, I have so much to learn, particularly in refining my coaching methods and enhancing my skills and knowledge.
The trainer from Japan introduced us to many advanced coaching methods, and most importantly, he helped us understand what it feels like to be a student during the learning process. This trip also allowed me to make new friends from other countries. Upon returning, I am motivated to improve myself and uphold the high standards of my company.
Muhamad Hisham Bin Idris
The experience I gained from this competition has instilled a sense of purpose and motivation to further enhance my skills and knowledge. Prior to the event, Mr. Daisuke Izuhara provided invaluable guidance, which helped build my confidence.
This trip also gave me the opportunity to learn from other competitors, insights that I can now share with my colleagues. I look forward to contributing to the growth and development of both my colleagues and trainees.
